I live in Netherlands from the United States 5 years ago. My computer goes on France server so excuse me. Anyways The Untied States economy is floundering and Canada and Australia still hang on to the UK so I think we should join. I hear some people.... particular on Yahoo Answers say it is floundering. What a joke! If you live hear it is the biggest economy of the world! If we get 3 super powers the economy gets way better. I hear it would be socialistic. No it would not. The United States can still run it how they did for hundreds of year but with a euro. My point is if people joins it is balanced out. Employment will rise because people in America can immigrate wherever they want! come on people think about it or do some research and find out about this system. If people want a better world you would support EU membership.

Ok for one the United States will never join the EU. The United States, Canada and Mexico want to join into one country and that will be called the Amero. The world will not be better if we join the EU because most of the countries in the EU are going bankrupt and we as a country needs to look at that and dont go down that road. All we need to do as a country is to stop printing more and more money and start to get a new currency which is Gold and Silver. That is true money not this paper garbage. God Bless America.

I think EU is already too big.

EU has been "sold" to European peoples as a hope for peace and fraternity for the future.

But fraternity can't be decreed, and cultural and linguistic differences do not disappear with a simple signature on a treaty.

If the union is not a great humanist fraternity but only a free trade area, I do not see the point.
